In this week’s episode we cover:
1. I just finished your DRK Everyday cardi for the *second* time (!!) and I love it so much! My question is in regards to the buttons! I bought beautiful buttons from haulin’ hoof farm, but when I sew them on, they look… floppy? For lack of a better term. I’ve watched videos on sewing on buttons, but the shank at the back of the button always seems very bulky to me. Do you have any tips or suggestions? Am I just overthinking it and that’s normal? I also stained it the first time I wore it 😖 and any tips you have for getting that out would be appreciated!
2. Bonjour from Canada! I’m hopeful you or this beautiful community will have some ideas. We love a good visual, and are a neurodivergent, low tech family. My daughter is relishing in the joy of knitting and wants to learn as many stitches as she can! She is a beginner with a solid purl and knit stitch down pat. She’s working on a pattern which requires German short row - but remembering how to short row can be the tricky bit! Are there any books or printables you or folks here can recommend to us? Ideally something that covers some of the popular stitches? My beginner knitting flock ranges 7-13 years. Thank you for sharing your time with us each week.

3. Hi Andrea, I’ve always been interested in spinning and your enthusiasm and love for it inspired me to finally get started. I bought a second hand Lendrum DT wheel and am loving the meditative process and learning so much for my new fiber journey. Thank you for the nudge to get me going!
I noticed during your studio tour what looked like a Lendrum with a WooLee winder. What wheels are you currently using and what do you like about different wheels for your spinning projects.

4. I love that you knit and walk. I would love to try this…..any advice? I know you prefer smaller projects that aren’t too complicated. Do you walk in the same area so you are used to the terrain? Do you use a mini minder to hold the yarn or a specific style of project bag? Do you tend to be able to knit without looking at your projects for more than a few stitches at a time? I would love to incorporate knitting in a waking routine……might inspire me to walk more if I thought I could knit as the same time! Thanks!
5. When your Brume pattern came out, I had to knit it immediately. Such a beautiful pattern! I used the Farmers Daughter Oh Dang! DK, and it is my very favorite sweater. So cozy yet light as a feather. However, it is now too oversized and no longer comfortable. Normally, I would just frog it and reknit in a new size. But I don't know about frogging this yarn, even with using the freezer technique. When you were designing, did you do any frogging of Oh Dang? I don't want to live without this sweater but it was quite an investment. I'm hoping to not have to buy the yarn again. Thank you for any suggestions!
