Ikari Warriors was a late release Atari 7800 game from 1989. It was programmed by Imagineering for Atari Corp, but the original game was by SNK and brought to the North American arcade scene by Tradewest. It proved to be a unique take on a genre that Commando started, thanks to its unique control scheme and solid gameplay.
So how does the Atari 7800 port fair? I'm going to look at it objectively on its own, without really comparing it to the NES and arcade versions. So lets see how it fairs...
I grade all the games I review on a 5 points scale. Here's what each score means:
5 out of 5 is PERFECT! These are the must own games of their consoles
4 out of 5 is Great! These games are extremely impressive and very fun!
3 out of 5 is Good. These are usually flawed but still can be fun...
2 out of 5 is Bad. These are very flawed and suffer because of it.
1 out of 5 is GARBAGE! Avoid these hot piles at all costs!
