THE FOREMOST to THE FUTURE - Om to SphereX
PROLOGUE
The dance will begin with a Rig Vedic Sanskrit mantra from 3000 BCE~ also known as the Hymn of Creation, indicating the origin of the universe. It says, “Before the universe came into existence, there was neither existence nor nonexistence, neither was airy space nor heavens beyond, there was nothingness. The entire universe was concentrated in the form of a Bindu, meaning a single point, out of which an explosion occurred”.
CHAPTER 1
OM or AUM is the primordial sound of creation. It is the original vibration of the universe. From this first vibration, all other vibrations manifest. It is the sound from which the universe emanated and represents the union of mind, body, and spirit AND the beginning of life on Earth.
CHAPTER 2:
The SPHEREx mission (Spectro-Photometer for the History of the Universe, Epoch of Reionization, and Ices Explorer), set to launch no later than April 2025, aims to help scientists better understand the origins of the universe and where water and other key ingredients for life originated. It will measure the abundance of water ice in interstellar clouds of gas and dust, where new stars are born, and planets eventually form.
FINALE:
In the hallowed halls of tradition, where our footsteps echo ancient rhythms, and our palms depict a story, I pirouette on the edge of innovation and the sacred.
By juxtaposing the ancient and the avantgarde, I try to create a bridge between the spiritual and the scientific, between the microcosm of human experience and the macrocosm of the universe. This dance will not only intrigue audiences about the origins and significance of life but also inspire them to ponder their place within the cosmos.
CREATIVE VISION/GENRE/STYLE
I will use my 3 decades of experience and training in Indian dance and various dance forms to illustrate the primordial sound of OM, sound waves and beginning of life on earth. In the latter chapter, I will use interviews from the SPHEREx team and its future for mankind juxtapositioned with my dance.
