Growing up, Cassandra R. always knew she wanted to work with animals. After serving as a small animal veterinary technician for years, she was looking for something a little different when she joined the Dallas Zoo's veterinary team - and she sure got it! From helping our vets with surgeries and exams to performing lab work and filling prescriptions, STEM superstar Cassandra does it all! She has even spent time in Madagascar rehabilitating endangered radiated tortoises and traveled to South Africa to care for orphaned lesser flamingo chicks. 🐢🦩
She believes it's important for everyone to know that they can play a part in protecting wildlife, and we couldn't agree more. Cassandra, thank you for all you do here at the Dallas Zoo!
