For generations, being an auto mechanic was a solid viable career choice, but times have changed.
Vehicles have become drastically overcomplicated along with the equipment needed to service them. The manufacturers have declared all out war against any outsiders working on the vehicles they create, and the economic climate within the industry has become cutthroat leaving many mechanics running off to greener pastures.
The traditional path to making a good living turning wrenches has all but disappeared, but that doesn't mean there are not still plenty of opportunities for those willing to work outside the box and come up with creative workarounds.
