Everybody deserves the right to safety and protection. Everyone deserves the freedom to express themselves and live authentically.
These rights and freedoms are, however, not always extended to the LGBTI+ community. The ongoing stigma and violence in society has to stop! Iranti has documented countless instances of violence, rights violations and discrimination in South Africa and the continent. The psychological toll that the work takes on our team and our comrades at the grassroots level cannot be overstated. We live in a world where it is normal for a video about a queer person to involve tragedy.
Today, on International Day Against Homophobia And Transphobia, we say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Stand with us this #IDAHOT, as our queer comrades or straight and cisgender allies, and demand an end to the injustice.
