A liberal democracy is about freedom of speech, elections, a constitution, and universal human rights. Far-right intellectuals, however, attempted to change the meaning of the word "democracy", arguing that the notion of "organic democracy" refers to the idea that a leader can speak in the name of a group of people because "the people" are a homogeneous mass. Metapolitics is about this long-term struggle over the meaning of words. While this struggle used to take place in various intellectual formats and environments, since 2012 formats such as memes and podcasts are increasingly used to circulate, transform and normalize far-right ideas.
