Zhong received his MSc degree in Lanzhou University, China, where he worked on catalytic C-H activation reactions. Then, he moved to Nankai University to start his doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. Xiao-Chen Wang. His PhD research primarily focused on the development of regioselective and enantioselective C-H functionalization of pyridine.
Zhong joined ICIQ in 2023 as a postdoctoral researcher and he started his MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2024.
