June 11, 2023 service for the First Unitarian Church of Salt Lake City, featuring Rev. Ian White Maherβs final sermon for the church, as well as a New Member Ceremony and the annual Flower Communion.
All incidental music in this service was extrapolated from the cantata 'Beauty Calls Us Together', a song cycle with spoken word, commissioned specifically by the UUA to commemorate the 100th year anniversary of the Flower Ceremony established in 1923 by Norbert Δapek (Czech, 1870-1942). Its authors/composers include Rev. Suzelle Lynch, Kathryn Canan, Ruben Piirainen, Anne Merdinger, and Norbert Δapek.
A special thanks and nod of appreciation goes to our Flower Communion Singers. They graciously stepped up - on very short notice! - to present these pieces.
