January 14, 2024 service for the First Unitarian Church of Salt Lake City. The Reverend J Sylvan reflects on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's confidence in the power of love and truth to overcome despair and injustice. In light of the ongoing struggles for justice and equality, Rev. Sylvan uses the metaphor of "castles of sand" to describe ego-driven constructs that perpetuate injustice, urging us to confront our own egos, maintain hope, and continue working towards a world where everyone can have dignity, equality, and freedom.
