And with the expansion in circuits, came the arrival of some real-world locations, such as Laguna Seca.But part of the allure of Gran Turismo in general is its array of beautifully crafted fictional circuits, and of course, GT2 delivered a range of new ones to us - building on the classics like High Speed Ring and Trial Mountain.Tracks like Red Rock Valley and Midfield debuted on GT2 and went on to become fan favourites - despite Red Rock Valley appearing on Gran Turismo 2 and only Gran Turismo 2.But there were indeed other tracks that debuted on Gran Turismo 2 and were never seen again afterwards. Go to strms.net/fishing_clash_mattj155 to download Fishing ClashWhen Gran Turismo 2 released in 1999, its car roster had been dramatically enlarged, to around 620 vehicles according to GT Fandom, while other sources state that it holds more like 650 cars.However, that number was dramatically reduced in Gran Turismo 3, which had just 180 vehicles - way closer to the amount we got on the original GT.So, what happened to all the models that were introduced in GT2? In this video, we'll go through all the vehicles that were introduced in Gran Turismo 2, and have never been seen again so far.Please note that this list does not include any cars that were in Gran Turismo 1 as well as GT2, A lot of vehicles introduced in GT1 were also cut after GT2, but trying to incorporate these as well would have made the video even longer! Maybe I'll cover these separately some time.A few honourable mentions too:The Concept Car LM Edition: This car appeared in GT1 and GT2, which is why it isn't in the video. However, it took on quite a different appearance in GT2, so I was considering including it, but decided not to in the end.There were also two 240SXs that appeared only on the PAL version of GT2. They're identical to the US versions but were coded as separate cars for some reason, while other cars that changed names between regions simply had their names changed. However, it remains unused in Gran Turismo 5's files and was resurrected thanks to the Gran Turismo 5 Master Mod by Nenkai and The Ademeister. I'm choosing to play it on GT5 so I can explore the scenery better with the debug camera.It's also found on the spin-off title, Tourist Trophy.
