i3 Tidbits - Open Floating Applications
The first video in my trials with i3. 'i3 Tidbits' will be a set of videos that show nifty features I have found. This is useful to open up calculators, calendars, and other utilities that don't need full screen capability.
for_window [class="WM_CLASS object from xprop"] floating enable
NOTE: In the examples below the word class is not capitalized. Usually in Linux case sensitivity is important. I capitalized it in my config, and it works still. However, I tested class in lower case, and all is good, too.
