2018 Gentoo Install Guide Part 3 (From LFS)
MISTAKE: PLEASE NOTE: I edited '/etc/hostname' instead of '/etc/conf.d/hostname'. Please change this in your build.
This install tutorial will show and discuss installing Gentoo onto a physical partition that can be done from any Linux Distribution. I am using LFS, but any Linux Distro would work.
In part 3 We will perform the following:
1. Finalize Gentoo configurations
2. Install basic support programs
3. Setup the host OS to boot Gentoo (No UEFI)
4. Rant about MS and UEFI (Sorry)
I finish everything to have a basic Gentoo build that boots from your host system in this video. I made a mistake with the hostname as stated above, but it still boots. I apologize for the UEFI rant. I don't want to cause arguments, but I still HATE UEFI.
I'm not sure when I'll get to 'Part 4'. That will be setting up a GUI and i3. That may become its own series
