My mom and I had been planning this trip for months. She's in her 70s, we live in different cities, and we hadn't spent this much time together in years, so the whole thing felt worth sewing something special for.
I made few new pieces (and brought a couple of old favorites!):
- The Thistle cardigan in ivory merino was perfect for those first cool days. Merino handles temperature swings so well and doesn't hold odor.
- The denim Orla skirt was the hardest working piece in the whole capsule, worn three times across eight days and never felt like a repeat.
- The Freesia dress in polka-dot viscose georgette went to a Vivaldi concert in Sainte-Chapelle and felt completely right for it.
- The Orchid bed jacket (raspberry pink rayon satin with scalloped lace trim) layered over the Freesia and was exactly the right amount of coverage for a warm evening without adding too much weight.
- The scalloped Posie jacquard through the covered passages was a genuine labor of love that I'm so glad I made.
