Ly San was born in a small village in the northern mountainous area of Vietnam. In 2010, she left home for dental treatment in a town 60 km away, but there she met a woman who tricked her into travelling across the border to China. She was sold as a bride to a Chinese husband and wasn’t able to escape and return to her children and family for four years.
