riding texas’ newest roller coaster on opening day was such a wild experience. barracuda strike officially opened at seaworld san antonio on march 7, and i got to be there for the very first ride on this new family inverted coaster. 
what makes this one really interesting is that it feels like the newest step in seaworld parks’ bigger run of family inverted coasters. phoenix rising came first at busch gardens tampa, then the big bad wolf: the wolf’s revenge opened at busch gardens williamsburg, and now barracuda strike brings that same style of ride to san antonio. barracuda strike is the tallest of the three at 90 feet.

• 1,800 feet of track
• 42-inch height requirement

the best part is that even with the family coaster label, it still feels super legit in person, especially once you are flying out over the water with your feet dangling. this is a really smart add for seaworld san antonio, and it is cool seeing texas get one of the newest roller coasters in the country.
