In this video I go in depth comparing the @CanonUSA imagePROGRAF Pro-1100 to the previous model Pro-1000. Do the claims of new improved ink, better shadows, and deeper black expression actually hold up? I’ll break it down with plenty of side-by-side comparisons (plus a fun trip out to Anza Borrego desert to get a few new photos to print on it).
And ho, ho, ho buddy. You ain’t going to believe what I do at the end of this video. Actually, you probably will because the thumbnail gave it away. Blasted YouTube forcing me to clickbait you with a spoiler thumbnail! Oh, well. I guess I’ll just spoil it even further here.
I’ve been using the Canon Pro-1000 17” wide printer for over a year and a half. It’s a fantastic piece of equipment. The print quality is superb and the thing just works every time. So when Canon approached me to see if I wanted to try the new, updated imagePROGRAF Pro-1100, I jumped at the opportunity. Improved shadows, better blue-dark rendition, and a deeper matte black ink? Well those are all things a dusk-obsessed photographer like myself could get excited about.
Oh and there’s one more thing the #pro1100 can do that the #pro1000 can’t: print up to 129” long. Holy-a moly that’s-a long-a pano, eh? And you know how I know Canon ain’t just blowing smoke with that claim? Because I did. I DID IT, YOU HEAR ME?! I made a 129” long print with this mofo! Okay it was actually 128” but are you really going to get bent out of shape because of 1 inch? (that’s what HE said…?)
