The iPad’s never felt more like a real computer than it does with iPadOS 26. This update isn’t just Apple throwing in a few new icons or moving some menus around. For the first time, multitasking is built for fingers instead of just pretending to be a laptop, and the new Files app actually makes organizing documents...not a pain.
There’s a lot here! Liquid Glass, true window management, and background tasks that finally work the way you wish they always did. It’s not perfect (the iPad will still frustrate power users in a few ways), but if you’ve ever wondered when Apple would finally get serious about the iPad, this is the moment.
