My ashes experience
This by far is the hardest I pushed myself mentally for any level other than yata. I watched my friend chubby beat this before and I immediately fell in love with this level. Everything from the song, the deco, and GP. Looked like it all seemed to come together well as a level. I started this level in June 2024 because 2023 was a rough year for me mentally and almost any level I played around June of 2023 was a battle with my mental health and just motivation for the game.
The experience with ashes was the weirdest thing I ever put myself through. The first main issue I would like to address was the off screen click at 28 which didn't sync well with the song in my opinion and made that click close to impossible to get down. The dreadful 21 click everyone talked about I personally had an easier time with that click except the first two days of ashes. The hardest part was the GP but the mental strain the level can put in you as a whole. Only one other level has found a way to do this to me which was Yatagarasu and while I dropped Yatagarasu my goal for 2024 was to drop less than 5 extreme demons so I didn't wanna pussy out of playing ashes knowing it was at the time one of my favorite levels.
The longer I played ashes the worse my mental health seemed to deplete but I'm not so vocal about my mental health as a person I feel like if I'm going through something I gotta push myself out of it. This ended up with a horrible rage which eventually caused me to cut my thumb numerous times from slamming my hand at my keyboard from how angry I was not meeting up with my expectations.
Now that I'm typing this I was more hard on myself than the level itself and that seemed to hinder progress.
In general this is a weird level to me cause I wanna like it but the questionable GP choices make me say otherwise.
I am the unluckiest ashes victor imo.
