(Extreme Demon #99!)Thumbnail by @ImNoahE I have returned with a new third hardest! This level always intrigued me as one of the more "fun" levels in this difficulty range, and I was kindaaa right. This is very very consistent, me having my only other 2 ball deaths other than my worst fail within 20 minutes of me beating it. However, I found the predrop extremely monotonous and annoying as the small super duper highcps bursts really took a toll on my hand/wrist making it nearly impossible to play at times. I frequently found myself physically unable to click under the strain. The ufo was also extremely annoying, and 74% is just insanely stupid, completely setup based and honestly one of the most annoying chokepoints I've ever encountered. I think its safe to say for the average player who doesn't struggle with clicks per second issues and is looking for something to do in the high legacy range before list demons, this is one of your best picks. [My Dream Hardest] Lotus Flower By StarkyTheSalad 100% (Top 95 Extreme Demon) VTB 2025-07-20 | [My Dream Hardest] Lotus Flower By StarkyTheSalad 100% (Top 100 Extreme Demon)Over the course of my geometry dash career there were many times I've been itching to prove myself. This is one of those occasions. However, this one certainly gave me a wild ride. Ignoring just the sheer difference in difficulty from this and Goner/Escape Room (which obviously is just insane) but just the sheer nature of this level makes it an insanely daunting task.Now why did I choose this level? Well kinda just everything. I love crazy levels like "WHAT" or "Aperture" which test the boundaries of the editor, but what I've found I like more is just a level that does its own little thing. It doesn't try to be the next biggest thing ever, and it sticks to what it wants to achieve and does it amazingly well. I think the deco while simple just has so much thought put into it. Shoutout to @Naxrin for noticing this (their completion was one of the first I saw when attempting to learn the level) and noticed a ton of cool small things about the level. Blocks becoming bigger and smaller reflect lily pads, the dark nature of the first half reflecting night (which is when the lotus flower blooms close), and even the particles representing insects. All these cool subtle ways to express a theme are so nice to see. Radiohead, the band behind the song, is one of my favorite bands of all time, so that further motivated me to try it.I won't go into too much detail about my experience because Id be here all day, but it was rough. I probably dropped the level 6 times roughly ever since starting it in November of 2023. Every single extreme, and I mean every, was either done to relieve me some stress from trying to do this, or to help improve my skill for this level to maybe be able to beat it. Even a few minutes before completing it I doubted my abilities. This was further developed by quite possibly the worst mindblock Ive ever had. This freaking cube! Idk how this part isn't talked about enough when discussing Lotus Flower's difficulty, but to me this part cemented to me that the first half of this level, contrary to how it appears, was much harder than the second half. Additionally, the 39% robot click is just insane. Everyone will tell you who's beaten this level how brutal it is, and trust me they aren't lying. These greatly contributed to an insane mindblock. If you don't trust me still, I'll let my fails speak on my behalf. Disclaimer that I dont want to quit the game yet, but its unlikely Ill do a new hardest. However for someone like me it was just insanely annoying to play. The predrop isn't too bad, but is just insanely annoying cuz of how boring and monotonous it is. It's very easy to get mindblocked for that reason. 25%-35% for me is the hardest part of the level, simply because the gp is so awkward, especially the 32% robot jump like that's just absurd. The rest of the drop plays that way to a lesser degree, very annoying to die here. The ball part is by far the easiest part of the level, and not horrible to play thankfully. The wave is just so annoying oml like u can fr just die anywhere it's not bad in runs at all but from 0 its just insane. The ending is super fun actually I can't lie and I think its overrated in diff, a lot of people say its super hard but its really not. Overall this could've been fun with better balancing decisions, which I guess the playtesters failed to do because this got an update but still plays this horrible? Geez louis, no diss to them but try harder please. One of my craziest runs ever in this game. I was told that this run could be as hard as beating plasma pulse finale or even bloodlust, so at the time this would be the considered the absolute hardest thing I've ever done in the game to some people. Maybe if I was intentionally going for this run I'd agree, but because it was on complete accident it definitely didn't feel as hard. Onto the level yeaaaaaaaah its really bad. I get it, its consistent, but when you get to the buildup just to die there hundreds of times it takes the validity of consistency being a good thing going for this level. I first went for this in 2022 promptly after beating black blizzard (time flies huh) and got absolutely smacked by the level, spending 6k attempt for basically no progress. Fast forward to the end of 2024 when I beat it and, fluke aside, I enjoyed the level quite a bit! There's a good bit of chokepoints here and there, and the predrop can be a drag, but overall its a solid level! (MY FIRST RGB!) I NEVER thought I would be good enough to beat this level when I started taking it seriously in 2020. It genuinely felt so hard, from the length and the awkward 2.0 gp it felt so intimidating. After beating it, now 7 months ago, its still surreal to me. The level has aged interestingly. A lot of the deco holds up well but also, doesn't. You can tell this is a much older level. The gameplay too shows its age, having numerous chokepoints and bugs (that dragoon is too lazy to fix cmon man!). It's still kind of fun even with that fact, I'll be it very easy to form mindblocks like I did. I think this was a huge stepping stone for me and my skill and showed I can do whatever I put my mind to no matter the circumstances. This has always been acclaimed as one of the best extremes, and now I can say people are correct! This was scary to beat cuz, ya know, its killbot. The memory has deterred a lot of people, including This was a blast, super consistent and fun throughout. I would say this is probably the most consistent and accessible level in this difficulty. When I saw this level a year ago when I saw Victurky beat this, I instantly fell in love and wanted to beat it. However, I was deterred by its insane difficulty and memory, until this years maymory. I saw this as the perfect opportunity, and hopped on. Learning the wave was definitely the hardest part. It took me ~8k attempts and very grinding. What sucked was the wave didn't even get consistent until the final 3 or 4 days. Then the grind from 0 started, where I was frequently mind-blocked by the ship in particular and many parts of the wave. I kept on grinding through the pain of getting super consistent to the pre-drop but dying to random stuff later. I wasn't even confident today, taking longer than usual to do my ritual 54-100 run, then out of practically no where, I beat it. I have to say, even with my horrible luck, this is still some of the best extreme demon gameplay out there. Even though my enjoyment is slightly off, I fucking adore this level to death and always will, and I'm so grateful to have this as my hardest, as well as my 40th extreme and the level to get me to 10k stars! Huge congrats to Nightning for making this masterclass of a level and one of the best list demons of all time. This started out pretty amazing for me, getting 86% on my 6th attempt at the drop. But after that, it sort of went down hill from there. I just felt like I was dying to places I didn’t know I could die to and dying to places I shouldn’t be dying to, almost every attempt. And as you can see from me talking at the beginning, I wasn’t very happy about it.
