Sunlu AMS Lite Heater Review! Is this the ultimate upgrade for the Bambu Lab AMS Lite? In this video, I take a detailed look at this new heated enclosure and AMS Lite filament dryer, designed to turn the open AMS Lite into a more controlled environment for drying and storing 3D printer filament. - Buy it here t.co/2qudA45jk2 (not aff link)

The Bambu Lab AMS Lite is fantastic for automatic filament loading and multi-colour 3D printing, but its open design means your filament is exposed to the surrounding environment. That's potentially a problem when printing with moisture-sensitive materials such as PETG, TPU, Nylon (PA), PVA and Polycarbonate (PC).

The Sunlu AMS Lite Heater aims to solve that by adding a heated enclosure, circulating airflow, humidity monitoring and automatic moisture venting — while allowing the Bambu Lab AMS Lite to continue handling automatic filament changes and colour swaps.

But is this 3D printer filament dryer worth the £104.99 price tag? And if you don't already own a Bambu Lab AMS Lite, does buying the AMS Lite and Sunlu AMS Lite Heater make more sense than simply buying a different AMS system with built-in filament drying?

In this Sunlu AMS Lite Heater review, I take a close look at:

✅ Sunlu AMS Lite Heater unboxing and installation
✅ How the Bambu Lab AMS Lite fits inside the enclosure
✅ Overall size and desk footprint
✅ Compatibility with Bambu Lab printers
✅ Temperature and humidity controls
✅ Filament drying modes
✅ RH humidity maintenance mode
✅ Automatic ventilation and moisture removal
✅ Drying four spools of 3D printer filament at once
✅ Printing while filament is being dried
✅ PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, Nylon and PC considerations
✅ The effects of wet filament
✅ Filament storage and moisture control
✅ How much space the AMS Lite filament dryer really needs
✅ Noise, heat and practical considerations
✅ Sunlu AMS Lite Heater pricing
✅ Whether it's better than a standalone filament dryer
✅ Whether this is a worthwhile Bambu Lab AMS Lite upgrade

One of the biggest questions is whether the Sunlu AMS Lite Heater actually fixes the biggest weakness of the Bambu Lab AMS Lite: having four rolls of filament sitting exposed to the room.

If you already own a Bambu Lab AMS Lite and regularly print with PETG, TPU, Nylon or other moisture-sensitive 3D printing filaments, this could be a very interesting AMS Lite upgrade. But if you mainly print PLA in a dry environment, already have a 3D printer filament dryer, or don't have the desk space for a much larger setup, you may be better off sticking with what you have.

So, is the Sunlu AMS Lite Heater worth buying?
