When I started Do you speak Greek? I thought I was simply starting a YouTube channel about the Greek language.
I had no idea what it would bring into my life.
Over the years, I’ve met people from completely different parts of the world. People I would probably never have met otherwise.
At first, they came to me because they wanted to learn Greek.
Then we started spending hours together. Talking, laughing, sharing stories, travelling through different moments of our lives.
And somewhere along the way, some of these people stopped feeling like “students”.
They became friends.
And one of them is my beloved Melissa. 💛
She came into my life as a student, and somehow, along the way, she became a friend. Someone I genuinely love having in my life.
And I think this is one of the things I’m most grateful for when I look back at everything I’ve built.
Do You Speak Greek? gave me a career I could never have imagined for myself. It gave me experiences, opportunities and a whole world outside the little corner of Greece where I started.
But more than anything, it brought people into my life.
And I don't think I realised, when I uploaded that first video, just how much they would change me too.
