October was a solid reading month for me. I didn’t read every single day, but I read most days — and it really added up. This wrap-up covers what I finished, what I sampled, what I’m still working on, and what reading almost every day actually did to my headspace.

Books I Finished in October: • Carmilla — J. Sheridan Le Fanu
• Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde — Robert Louis Stevenson
• Happy Place — Emily Henry
• Grace and Henry’s Holiday Movie Marathon — (Author Name)

Short Works I Read: • "The Yellow Wallpaper" — Charlotte Perkins Gilman
• "The Birds" — Daphne du Maurier
• "The Lottery" — Shirley Jackson
• "The Jaunt" — Stephen King

I also kept working on some ongoing reads, including The Shining, Plainsong, SHE by H. Rider Haggard, The Life of Ian Fleming, and The Lord of the Rings.

What I noticed most this month is how different my thinking feels when I read consistently. It slows the day down in a good way, makes everything feel more grounded, and reminds me I’m allowed to live at a human pace.

If you read anything great this month, I’d love to hear what it was.
