I Own 28 Rentals and STILL Can't Retire With Real Estate!
For the last 2 years I’ve been saying I would likely retire within 2 years.
And today?
I’m still saying… 2 more years.
So what happened?
In this walk-and-talk video on Millennial Mike, I break down the honest truth about why my retirement timeline hasn’t changed — even though technically, I could retire right now.
Yes, I have enough money to leave my W2 job and sustain my family.
But here’s the reality:
Retiring isn’t just about surviving.
It’s about continuing to grow.
If I walked away today, I could cover our expenses.
But I wouldn’t have enough capital to continue aggressively growing my real estate portfolio in retirement.
And that matters.
Because my goal isn’t just financial freedom — it’s long-term financial expansion.
On top of that:
• I’m in the middle of several massive remodel projects
• These projects require heavy capital upfront
• Once complete, they’ll require far less cash
• But right now… I’m still feeding the beast
Large value-add real estate projects distort your timeline.
You’re heavy on cash output before you see the long-term upside.
And in the last two years?
I got married.
We grew our family.
We welcomed another child.
Life expanded — and so did expenses.
That doesn’t mean the goal changed.
It means the strategy adjusted.
My goal is still to retire within the next 2 years.
And I’m closer than ever.
But this video is about the reality of financial freedom:
Timelines shift.
Capital matters.
Growth phases require sacrifice.
And sometimes the smartest move is to delay gratification to secure something bigger.
If you’re building wealth through real estate investing, balancing a W2 job, raising a family, and chasing financial freedom — this one is for you.
Welcome to the real journey.
