I bought a $7 7-port USB 3.0 hub and decided to take it apart to see what's actually inside.

This USB hub has 7 USB ports, individual power switches, and LED indicators. I tested all 7 ports with USB flash drives, a keyboard, mouse, and other devices, and they all worked at USB 3.0 speeds.

In this video, I'll show you the inside of this cheap USB hub, the circuit board, USB ports, soldering, controller chips, traces, and how the individual switches are connected.

I'll also explain the limitations of using a bus-powered USB hub and why you may want a powered USB hub if you're connecting multiple high-power devices.

Is this $7 USB hub actually worth buying?
