The experience inspired me to create this custom diorama of the outpost area where many people have taken photos with "the mandalorian and grogu" near the Rise of the Resistance exit at Galaxy's Edge in Disney World.
This diorama measures 22" wide x 22" deep x 17.5" tall. It's made primarily out of 2" XPS foam that was hand carved with a knife and a rotary tool. The blast door was designed by me, and constructed with laser cut MDF and some custom PLA printed 3D printed pieces.
The paint job on the rock formations consisted of using spray paint (2 shades of grey to create a zenithal highlight) and then a series of paint washes with colors like desert sand, white, black and brown. I also did some light dry-brushing on the rock formations to bring out some of the sculpt detail.
I hope everyone that is going to see The Mandalorian and Grogu this weekend enjoys.
