I melted this sentimental gold ring that belonged to my customers dad 😅. Deliberately ruining such a special piece of jewellery to make a new wedding ring was terrifying … the pressure was on!
I never had the confidence to take on commissions like this in the past but Chris seemed proper sound so I agreed to use his gold to make his wedding ring.
One of the pieces was melted, formed into wire and inlaid next to a band of black opal in the Damascus steel core. The other was used as a liner for the ring.
Hopefully the final piece is dazzling so Chris can celebrate the love of his life and honour his Dad.
