Today’s order is for Joel from Lancashire who wanted one of WW2 Lee Enfield Rifle rings.
The Lee Enfield was a bolt action, magazine fed, repeating rifle used by the British armed forces in the first half of the 20th century.
To make this design I machined a steel ring core to a size 10.5 at 8mm wide with a 6mm inlay groove.
I was then able to take a slice of the walnut stock and use that as the inlay using the bent wood method so it looks pretty much seamless.
This is a simple design with a story and a great way to honour our troops who laid down their lives to fight against fascism.
