I’ve measured some very bright TVs over the years… but never anything like this. 👀

For the first time ever, I recorded a peak brightness measurement of 10,000 nits on an actual TV, namely the 85-inch TCL X11L SQD-Mini LED TV.

To put that into perspective:
• Most OLED TVs peak below 3,000 nits
• Even flagship MiniLED TVs typically stay below 10,000 nits
• 10,000 nits is the mastering ceiling used in PQ HDR standards

Are we witnessing the future of HDR television brightness?
