I have ALWAYS wanted to wear the Red Dress from Baz Luhrman's Moulin Rouge, so I was completely delighted to make this for myself. In this video, I study the skirt in detail, and talk about the historical 1890s skirt it is likely based on. I then make the skirt and the bow, sewing it with modified historical techniques like flat lining, and tarlatan stiffening. I then try on the whole outfit.
