We’re back in Atomcraft, and Episode 4 begins with a terrible tragedy: while expanding the enclosure, I accidentally murder one of my precious methane-producing cows.
With my natural supply of cow farts suddenly looking less reliable, I turn to chemistry and attempt to manufacture methane myself. That means processing pentlandite into nickel oxide, refining it into nickel and using a nickel catalyst to combine carbon dioxide and hydrogen into methane.
I also head underground searching for bauxite, work on producing more aluminium, start growing trees for a sustainable carbon supply and continue chasing the materials needed for the next drill upgrade. As usual, every simple objective turns into an increasingly complicated chain of chemical reactions, machinery and questionable engineering.
Let me know which moment made you laugh the most—and whether you actually understood the chemistry better than I did!
