Remember MadBalls? The grossest, weirdest toys every kid wanted... unless your parents said, "Absolutely not!"
I found what I think is a bootleg MadBall at a yard sale, and it instantly brought back memories of those school candy bar fundraisers. If you sold enough candy, you could finally earn one from the prize catalog. My only problem? My sister and I kept eating the candy bars ourselves, which meant my dad had to pay for the missing chocolate... and I never earned my MadBall. Turns out that strategy had a few flaws.
So after all these years, I decided to fix my childhood disappointment the only way I know how—by making my own! Using Super Sculpey, a few sculpting tools, and a healthy dose of imagination, I created a Lunkhead Bob-inspired MadBall that's every bit as weird and gross as I hoped.
Maybe not getting a MadBall as a kid wasn't such a bad thing after all. It just took me a few decades to make an even cooler one... or maybe it just proves I'm still a giant kid.
