In 2000, the notorious "I Love You" virus swept the globe, infecting millions of computer systems and causing billions of dollars in damage.
This sneaky piece of malware lurked in email attachments, disguised as an innocent message with a subject line of "I Love You" and a message body saying "Kindly check the attached LOVELETTER coming from me." But when users opened the attachment, the virus would unleash its full destructive power, deleting important files and even disabling entire computer systems. The virus would replicate itself, sending copies of the virus to all of the contacts in the user's email address book.
