In 2012, 4Chan became excited after the most powerful chocolate company in the world, Kinder, decided to host an online contest, letting the internet decide who would be the new face of their coveted chocolate bars.

The Kinder marketing team thought their idea was simply brilliant, and there was no way anything could go wrong.

But 4Chan was already brewing up ideas, so they submitted everything from derpy-looking babies to memes they liked to Barack Obama to even Adolf Hitler.

But 4Chan knew those submissions would eventually just get removed by the Kinder mods, so they decided to find something that followed the contest rules. After a lot of brainstorming, they found the perfect submission: an obscure meme that was known by few as “Death Child”.

It was just strange enough to make 4Chan laugh, and at the same time, it followed the rules, so Kinder couldn’t justify taking it down.

It was absolutely perfect.
