I love the Loomis method so much I’ve used it in most of my portrait paintings. THis gives me a quick guide to locating facial features. It takes a bit to get your head around, but it’s well worth it a bit of effort to strive for working freehand.

This painting used the “Zorn” palette - just 4 colours! Yellow Ochre, Ivory Black, Cadmium Red and Titanium White.
