Summary

This is a real phone call between one of my federal-contracting clients and Tripp — the AI agent I built into Bid Tracker. The client called my line at 9:04 PM, hit voicemail, left his name, and Tripp picked up the return call. No script. No human in the loop. No "press 1 for sales." Just the AI handling a real conversation about real RFQs.

The reframe is simple, and it's the whole reason I'm publishing this:

The bottleneck in federal contracting was never the contracts.
The bottleneck was access to a person who actually knew what to do.
That bottleneck just got removed.

What Actually Happened On The Call

The client (David, a small business prime) wanted to verify three things he and I had already exchanged emails about earlier that night:

1. His SBA bonding capabilities — $250K bond limit, full financial package required (company financials, tax returns, personal financial statements, WIP schedules), 15% self-perform requirement as the prime.
2. Three open RFQs we had in front of him — two SBA set-aside flooring jobs at Base Alameda due May 15th (pool deck / locker room repair, and a new men's locker room floor), and one SDVOSB set-aside plumbing job in Phoenix due May 28th.
3. Action items: build the SF-1442 packet with amendments for both Alameda RFQs, loop in Rudy on pricing, and pre-fill a bond request form before it goes to Scott.

Tripp handled all of it. Pulled up the right RFQs from prior context. Told him the SDVOSB job was off the table for him. Committed to packaging the submissions. Agreed to email Rudy. Asked him to re-send the bond form when it didn't arrive. Said goodbye like a person.

The Bottleneck That Just Disappeared

Every small contractor I've ever worked with hits the same wall: they have a question at 9 PM, or 11 PM, or Saturday morning, and the consultant is asleep. The bid is due Monday. The bonding agent doesn't answer. The set-aside rules are unclear. So they freeze. Or they guess. Or they walk away from the bid.

Tripp doesn't sleep. Tripp has my 1,000+ contract archive, the 28-hour workshop methodology, the FAR, and every prior email exchange with the client loaded into context. Tripp answers the phone.

This is not a chatbot. This is a federal contracting consultant on call 24/7, trained on the exact methodology I teach in the workshop.

Core Issue Identified

The federal contracting industry has built itself around the scarcity of expertise.
That scarcity is what makes consultants expensive and slow.
That scarcity is what makes small primes leave money on the table.
That scarcity is now optional.

Sean's direction is clear:

If you're a small prime trying to get into federal work, you don't need to wait for a human anymore. You need access to the methodology and an AI that knows it.
If you're an existing client of mine, Tripp and Johnny are already inside Bid Tracker. Use them.
If you're not yet, the workshop is the door.

Key Takeaways

This is a real client call answered by an AI, not a demo or a simulation.
Tripp pulled up three live RFQs and the client's $250K SBA bond limit from prior context.
The 15% self-perform rule for primes was correctly stated unprompted.
Tripp handled SF-1442 packet preparation as a follow-up commitment.
Tripp routed pricing to Rudy and bond paperwork to Scott — real workflow, real names.
The AI correctly disqualified the SDVOSB Phoenix job for an SBA-only contractor.
"After this call, I'll email you everything" — that's the new normal.
Federal contracting is not a relationship business anymore. It's an entitlement business.
Entitlement plus AI plus 24/7 availability is the new edge.
1,000+ archived federal contracts plus my methodology plus voice = Tripp.
The bottleneck on small business federal contracting was access to expertise. That's solved.
This is the first real client call my AI has taken. It will not be the last.

If you've been waiting for the moment when AI actually does the work in federal contracting — this is it. The question isn't whether you'll use this. The question is whether you'll use it before your competitor does.
