So there's this app called Likewise that recommends you books based on past reads and the books you liked. I tried it. It recommended me nothing but dark, bloody, depressing books, so I say it knows me very well. I read some horror, some Steven King, where I discovered the scariest parts of his books are how he writes women's bodies. As a woman, I don't "flounce" when I exit a room. I saunter. Sometimes I sashay. Historical fiction tried to make me cry. One book was a confusing info dump. So I had a nice mix! Watch and see what happens when I try to let an algorithm make decisions for me.
