For the past few days, reports of mysterious sonic booms have been coming in from different parts of the United States. First South Carolina. Then Boston. Witnesses described loud explosive sounds, rattling windows, shaking homes, and events that many initially thought were earthquakes.
I decided to investigate.
In this video, I walk through the Boston sonic boom reports, satellite imagery, eyewitness accounts, fireball data, and USGS records to see if I could identify what actually happened. The Boston event came together quickly once I found the satellite data — but what I found changed the way I look at the still-unsolved South Carolina event.
Was it a meteor airburst? A fireball? Something else entirely?
This is not an official conclusion. It is an ongoing investigation based on publicly available data, satellite imagery, eyewitness reports, and scientific sources. As always, we'll follow the evidence wherever it leads.
