It is a freezing 5-degree morning here in Michigan, but the cold never stops the Siberian Huskies! Memphis, Kira, and Eleanor started the day with some serious winter zoomies before we got to work in the kitchen. Today was all about "Liquid Gold"—our homemade bone broth for dogs. I went on a mission to find a new affordable source for beef bones and ended up scoring a massive bag for free from a local butcher! Bone broth is such an amazing health boost for dogs, providing nutrients that help with joint health and digestion.
In addition to the bone broth, we spent the afternoon processing 5 pounds of carrots and some celery for the freeze dryer. We love making our own DIY dog treats and food toppers to ensure the girls are getting the best nutrition possible. You'll see the girls' hilarious reactions to the giant raw bones and their favorite "carrot noodles." We wrap up the night with some cozy snuggles on Memphis's favorite new Snoozer bed. Life is short, make memories (and healthy treats) with your dogs!
HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR DAY
❄️ Sub-zero "real feel" temperatures and high-speed husky zoomies in the snow.
🍎 Kira being a "smart girl" and refusing to come inside until her apple is finished.
🚗 Driving through the beautiful icy hills to find a new local butcher source for bones.
🍖 Scoring a massive bag of beef bones for free to make Memphis’s favorite bone broth.
👃 The girls sniffing my clothes because I smelled like a butcher shop!
🦴 Letting the huskies investigate the giant frozen bones—Eleanor was ready to nibble!
🥕 Making "carrot noodles" and prepping 5lbs of carrots for the freeze dryer.
🍲 Cooking up a fresh batch of Liquid Gold bone broth to use as a healthy meal topper.
😴 Ending the freezing cold day with bed-time snuggles and a very cozy Memphis.
