i started these vids almost two years ago like shortly after i first watched the season? with the intention of them being two separate but mirrored videos to orla gartland songs. i think theres something to them and i worked really hard so i dont want to scrap them completely

but i dont have the motivation to finish them and i just dont think they say anything particularly insightful anymore? i think it portrays simon as having less agency than he actually did in his choices by saying 'its only a matter of time' which makes the tragedy not as interesting to ME. also i dont think its a particularly whiny song but juxtaposed with simon's clips it definitely takes on more of that tone. while it feels clear to ME that hes an unreliable narrator i was worried that it wouldnt translate well (which is why the videos came as a matched set)

AND i think that it portrays grace's character as like. someone who struggles with doing too much comforting and emotional labor in relationships? i think thats a little part of her relationship with simon (i.e. their confrontation in episode 9 where she says his actions are not her responsibility) but i don't think its a major part of her character especially when it comes to her relationships with hazel and others where she has TO learn genuine empathy. also she IS vulnerable and she DOES care about him and thats WHY its SAD!!!!!
