If you've ever tried to grow spinach, you'll know that many times it will bolt or go to flower or seed very quickly, often before you get to eat any! i have tried so many spinach varieties and have found one that I LOVE and that does not go to seed or flower. It is called Perpetual Spinach. It is not actually a spinach per se, but it's in the Swiss Chard and Beet families. It is very productive yielding a high amount of leaves. It likes to be trimmed and will grow more spinach when pruned and trimmed. It is long-standing growing from spring to late fall and is a perennial (comes back year after year). The sturdy leaves tolerate the heat will are very disease resistant and is resistant to most insects except slugs.
I grew these Perpetual Spinach seedlings from seed in milk jugs in winter using the Winter Sowing Method. (See below for info)
