In this episode I set myself an unusual challenge - to take off from Redhill Aerodrome (EGKR) in Surrey, England, fly a constant runway heading for four hours to see where I end up. That heading took me 500 nautical miles across Europe to Schönhagen Airfield (EDAZ), just southwest of Berlin, Germany.
This long-distance VFR flight serves as a training exercise for a much more ambitious goal: a future transatlantic crossing in my single-engine PA28 Turbo Arrow 3.
