I finally put the Wood Bullet to work…
…and here’s what happened.
After years of splitting firewood with hydraulic equipment and longer-handled axes, this was a completely different experience. I went into this a little unsure—different balance, shorter handle, and a new technique I’m still learning.
In this video, I take on a stack of gnarly Doug fir rounds—knots, twist, and all—and put the Wood Bullet through its first real test. No edits, no shortcuts. Just learning it in real time.
What surprised me most wasn’t what I expected.
There’s definitely a learning curve here—but there’s also something else going on that changed how this feels compared to anything I’ve used before.
