Is Meg still obsessed with TTWU? *shakes 8ball* “Signs point to yes”
So I’ve been rewatching all the Non/Disney Roleplays recently and rewatching Traitor Within Us I IMMEDIATELY got the Sinita itch. Especially after uploading last week’s video. But creating a new crossover from scratch, when I still barely had any Sinbad masks to speak of, made it a bit discouraging. So then I had the idea of doing Faben’s Simplicity Challenge! For those who don’t remember this challenge, the point of it is to not touch After Effects at all. You take all your pre-made masks, plop them into whatever editing program you use, and wing it. I’ve done this challenge twice already and I love it so much! Allows me to do crossover editing without some of the pains of it. But again, I felt like I didn’t have what I needed to make it. Sure enough, a day later, this song comes on my playlist and it’s a song I’ve deeply associated with these two for a while now. And then everything fell into place…
I decided that, instead of making this a story crossover, to go the music video route. I think that’s what made this video easier too, I was just lyric matching to a story already told! It was fun playing around with the typography too! I also thought I was gonna hate how this looked, since I wasn’t using AE’s fancy coloring, but I ended up being really satisfied. It actually looks CLEANER than most manips I make in AE. Honestly, editing this just felt very freeing! It was all about the aesthetic and I liked not having to go back and forth between programs. That said, I don’t recommend doing this when you’re low on masks because I basically just keyed Sinbad for the entirety of this video and it very much made my life a lot harder.
Also, ok, so that kissing manip. Man I SLAVED over that thing. Hardest manip I’ve ever done. And the animator in me is constantly driven crazy at how not perfect it looks, but you know what? For what I did and what I had to work with, I am quite proud of it. And it’s the only OTP of mine that didn’t have a proper kissing manip and that needed to change!! My skills had improved, and it’s what they deserve! And yeah, I know it will probably get me disqualified from this being a true simplicity video, but IN MY DEFENSE I was working on it before I started this video and then just decided to put it in the video. I still did all that compositing and lighting in FCP! I HAVE PROOF DAMNIT!!!
Lastly, I’d like to shout out my fellow cocreator of this ship @WolfSpirit79! Thanks for being my buddy, for roleplaying and all things nerdy, and a genuine great friend for almost 7 years! Love ya girl!

Me once again doing a “what’s real and what’s not and the ever failing mental state of the leading character trying to figure out what the truth is” plot for a Halloween video? Say it ain’t so.
This is for Faben’s annual Halloween MEP! This year they did a much more rock type song to the theme of the Salem Witch Trials. Now you all know I was on that shit, like come on I made a whole ass roleplay out of this event. However, the main thing was that those accused had to be false accusations. Our burned woman couldn’t be a witch. This caused some conflict for me, because to be honest all of the ideas that were coming to me of why women were accused and how they were accused has been done a million times. Rejects a man’s advances, child is bored and chaotic, is even just slightly different from social norms. I went through maybe 10 different versions, each one with a different cast of characters. Eventually, ended up with these guys.
As most of you know by now I always want to do something new, and that includes working with new characters and doing new ideas. I’ve been wanting to work with Juliana for years, and I’m actually shocked it took me so long to think of her considering her perfect expressions for this role. I also thought it’d be really interesting if the accuser was the accused’s child, meaning I had to think of an interesting explanation as to why a child would sell out their own mom lol. And to top it all off, I wanted to have a younger male be the accuser plus a plot where you question the main character’s point of view. Unreliable narrators in horror are super interesting, especially in supernatural stories, because it makes you really question everything.
And with all of that in mind, we come to this! A son who hallucinates his mother being a witch, even until her last breath. It was a lot of fun to work on and I’m really proud of the story I came up with! Enjoy!

Ya know when you create a couple of characters that just happen to be in a romantic relationship for story/backstory purposes but then the more you develop it and create the said romantic scenes you start to really ship it and it ends up becoming one of your OTPs?
….yeah that’s what happened to me with Percy and Oktai from ROTM XD. So for those of you not caught up on those videos, that’s where this is from. This isn’t an out of nowhere rare pair thing, this is now an OTP of mine so be prepared to see more of them on my channel.
Anyways this is for Beth’s (BeautifulDreamer) Immortals MEP, which I was a last minute backup for. You guys know me, I’m a goddamn SUCKER for deityxhuman ships, so this shit is my fucking jam. It was only a matter of time….

I swear I blocked this long before I saw Doctor Strange 2 AND before I rewatched Gravity Falls Im not that big of a dork I just really like this troupe, ok???
This MEP part is 6 months late by GOD. Absolutely bless Rosie for having this much patience in me, thank you for putting up with my bullshit.
We return once again to sad sci-fi troupes because MMMM I love them oh so very much. The theme for this MEP was split between a love that cannot be or finding love again, and I chose a weird combo of the two with the classic: seeing an alternate version of your lover and knowing its not REALLY your lover but you’re in pain because you don’t know when you’re gonna see your lover again and they’re just RIGHT HECKIN THERE but if you went up to them they won’t know who you are and its a constant cycle of tragedy and I fucking LOVE IT. So yeah, reading the theme I knew pretty instantly I wanted to do this storyline. Which also meant going back to Gravity Falls backgrounds because listen LISTEN. I don’t have a lot of options y’all and this show just has a big looking portal machine I can use anytime so WHY NOT.
I’ll admit though I went back and forth on this MEP part a lot, struggling with who to use for the longest time. I kinda knew from the start I wanted to use Helga because I was using her in a separate project similar to this but ultimately got too complicated for me to keep up with, but who I’d put her with was the issue. All I knew is that I wanted a nerdy-type character to contrast her. I went through a few options before landing on Jane, and Im really proud of that choice! These two look really good together!
Overall, despite its struggles, Im fairly proud of this! Enjoy!")
