Meet Turritopsis dohrnii. The jellyfish that stred the Grim Reaper in the face and said "No thanks mate."
When it's injured, starving or simply having a terrible day, it can reverse its own life cycle, transforming from an adult jellyfish back into its juvenile polyp stage.
In theory, that makes it biologically immortal, however it's still perfectly capable of being eaten, infected or otherwise obliterated by the universe.
Don’t think of it as “lives forever”… think of it more like "keeps hitting the reset button".
Which, to be fair, is still considerably more than the rest of us can manage.
