I didn’t come to Kenya for elephants.
But they changed how I see everything. 🐘

Most people chase the Big 5.

I learnt to follow the elephants.
When a herd slows down, bunches up, goes still — something’s around.
That’s how we found lions.

I watched a matriarch charge a lioness that wasn’t even a threat.
No hesitation. Just instinct.

That’s when it hits you — this is more than wildlife.

Also, not all elephants are the same.
Savanna elephants (Maasai Mara, Amboseli), Kakamega forest elephants (rarer, smaller), and the legendary Tsavo tuskers — giants with tusks that almost touch the ground.

For photographers:
- Golden hour.
- Shoot the eye.
- Wait for the ear flap.
- Let them come to you. Never chase. - Dust is magic.
- And if you’re near a bull on musth, step back. Always.

Kenya gives you sightings.
Elephants teach you patience.
