I loved him and we were ready. At least, I thought we were. I was on birth control so the risk of anything was low and my boyfriend wanted us to connect on a more intimate level so we decided not to use protection. We were so worried about pregnancy that I completely forgot about STDs. Now, with my medical bills and constant treatments, I wish I went to get checked sooner instead. I wish I knew the symptoms sooner.
