Is the NEEWER HB80C the most versatile light in my kit?
It isn’t my smallest or most powerful fixture, but after taking it on several real shoots, it repeatedly solved problems that my other lights couldn’t solve as easily.
In this full review, I look at the HB80C’s built-in battery, portable design, Bowens mount, included reflector, RGB capabilities, controls and output. More importantly, I show how I’ve used it as a key light, RGB accent, background light and three-quarter backlight in actual production environments.
The onboard battery may be its most valuable feature. I can place the light where I need it without searching for power or running another cable—but its compact travel system and full RGB capabilities have also earned it a permanent place in my production workflow.
