4 or 5 years ago, I set out on the difficult journey of designing and build my own home from nothing but raw land. I spent years thinking about and shopping for land, probably another year plus just thinking about the design of the home, from materials to layout to how it sat on the land and where. I put a ton of thought into efficiency, comfort, growing old, and just having a house that worked better than anything I've ever had before. After I somewhat locked in the design, I started on the build (yes I did most of it myself). In any case, this is the story about the house, 3 years later, and my thoughts on many aspects about it.
