I dare you to feel bored.
Seriously. Put the phone down. Step away from the scroll. Just sit, walk, breathe. Do nothing for a moment.
I recently interviewed neuroscientist TJ Power and he shared something powerful. When you give your brain a break from constant stimulation, it panics a little. For 10 or 15 minutes, it protests. Restless. Fidgety. But then something shifts. The nervous system settles. You start to feel calm again. Present. Peaceful.
Now, pair that with grounding. Bare feet on the earth. A slow stroll through green trees. Lungs full of fresh air. Sunlight warming your skin. This isn’t just “nice.” It’s regulating. It balances stress hormones, improves mood, and clears the mental fog. The green around you calms the brain. The earth beneath you calms the body.
So go on. I dare you to feel bored. But do it outside, with your feet on the ground and the trees nearby.
You might be surprised what shows up when you finally slow down.
